I'm guilty! Of putting off the work I don't want to do (laundry!), of procrastinating (fold aforementioned laundry!) and, much to my children's horror, being late for most things I do!
Yesterday started off the same as any other day - waking up and rounding up kids, piling them on the bus, some work, some dreaded housework (I'm certain the dust bunnies have a host of dusty friends they bring over for parties at the most inconvenient times!) and prepacking my camera equipment so that I could go shoot some fantastic lacrosse action. And then, I left my house and things went downhill from there .....
A mile from my house, I noticed smoke - LOTS of smoke in the distance. Being naturally curious, I headed in that general direction and quickly became enamoured with how the smoke interacted with the clouds .... and briefly forgot the time. Oops!
Continuing on, I then became interested in the rainstorm blowing in. Here in rural Alberta, we're in that lovely in between state of seasons where things are brown with minute touches of green, and looking like they need a good wash! Again, I had to stop to admire the scenery and take another 40 or so pictures of the landscape, and the Hutterite bulls. They weren't too interested i posing though as the wind was incredibly gusty and they were truing to hide behind a hill and each other! So, I turned my attention back to the clouds - and boy did I find some interest there! Weird shapes and a funky rainbow around the sun!
Yikes, I looked at the clock and figured I had better get a move on! 10 minutes til game time and um .... 12 minutes to town! But ... you guessed it! I stopped again!
The sky looked quite ominous .... perhaps rain at last?! Here's to hoping! (Though we only received 8 drops!!) I finally got to the arena ... only 3 minutes late!
My point is this - If I would've been rushing, I'd have missed all. of the fabulous sights! It never hurts to appreciate all that's around us!
